Eyelid And Facial Scar Revision

If the scar on your eyelids or face is pulling tight and this is causing discomfort or preventing your eyelids, mouth, or other facial structures from functioning normally, then you should consider having it revised. If the scar is visible and aesthetically displeasing, then scar revision would also be beneficial.

Removal Of Eyelid And Facial Lesions

Eyelid and facial lesions (lumps & bumps) are very common and the vast majority are benign (i.e. not cancerous). Nevertheless, if a lesion begins to enlarge, change color, bleed, or cause symptoms, then you should consult your physician to have it examined. Eyelid and facial lesions are commonly removed if they are cosmetically bothersome or have features suspicious for a cancerous growth.

Eyelid & Facial Injectables

Eyelid and facial injectables are a wonderful adjunct to our treatment armamentarium because they are minimally-invasive to perform, comfortable, and have less downtime compared with surgery. The two main categories of injectables are neurotoxins (i.e. Botox, Xeomin, Dysport) and dermal fillers (i.e. Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, etc.). There are many important considerations when deciding upon which injectables are suitable and safe for you to use. A one-size-fits-all approach will not work.

Laser Therapy for the Eyes & Face

There are currently many different types of laser machines on the market, each with specific advantages targeted to unique problem areas (e.g. fine lines, deep wrinkles, age spots, pigmentation, acne scars, blood vessels, loose skin, collagen synthesis, etc). Variables such as laser light wavelength, skin type/quality, and the experience level of the laser professional doing the treatment, will all impact how much benefit is derived.

Neuromodulators (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport)

Neuromodulators are a great tool for decreasing dynamic wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. Targeted areas are injected every 3-4 months and these can prevent several aging changes around the eyes and forehead when used consistently. Neuromodulators are also a great tool for treating migraine headaches, jaw clenching, and other facial issues.

Dermal Fillers

We all lose facial volume as we age (i.e. loss of bone, fat, muscle) in different areas of our face (including around the eyes and forehead) and this causes changes to its shape and projection. Dermal fillers can help restore the shape and volume to these areas to enhance youthfulness, symmetry, and beauty. However, it is absolutely necessary to understand the limitations of dermal filler and not to over inject in a way that draws attention to treated areas.
